Fayes Life
Faye was born on September 19th 1944 at Walebing WA.
She moved to Melbourne in her late teens where she met her future husband at a naidoc Ball in Preston in 1970.
Faye married Graeme Lionel Langdale on February 20th 1971 at Essendon Methodists church.
In August of 1971 Faye gave birth to her first son Malcolm Brookes, Jason Andrew followed in May 1973 and Heath Graeme in April 1979.
Major Highlights of her life Included the Births of her 9 grandchildren: Rhys Joseph In march 1994, Aimee Louise in January 1995, Tahnee Leigh in February 1996, Daniel James in November 1996, Patrick William in February 1999, Connor Mitchell in May 2001, Timothy Graeme in January 2002, Clare Marie in November 2004 and Caitlyn Rose in July 2005 (DEC). Faye loved to spend time with all her grandchildren often taking
them to the local market on weekends, which they all enjoyed immensely. She would often buy them little gifts that they treasure to this day.
Whilst living in Melbourne Faye received numerous accolades and achievements for all the tireless volunteer work she did for the indigenous community on the Mornington Peninsula including an award Recognising the valuable contribution made to the peninsula region Aboriginal Community 2003 and in 2004 for outstanding efforts in working outcomes to the koori community in the Melbourne metro Rajac Region.
Other achievements for Faye were her long time studies. She studied at Deakin and Monash Universities over 20 years .In October 1994 Faye received her first Degree from Deakin University – Bachelor of Arts. This was followed in 2000 by her graduate diploma of citizenship studies and the degree of Master of Arts on October 7th 2005.
Faye and Graeme had moved to Perth in June 2005 but returned to Melbourne in mid September following the premature birth and the death at 10 weeks of their Baby Granddaughter Caitlyn. They had been planning to return to Perth by christmas, when Faye was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The trip back was put on hold until January 06. 8 days after being back in Perth Faye passed away at home surrounded by her loving family.
Faye is now reunited with her Parents Ollie and Alice, her Brother Ron, her sisters Kathy and Joan, and her grand daughter Caitlyn.
RIP Faye our beloved. The hole you have left can never be filled but we know you are in a better place and are never far away. GOD BLESS.
